The flags have been lowered in front of the former N. Shepherd home of Fiesta Mart, now several days along on its journey toward pre-redevelopment flatness. A reader sends more photos of the action from yesterday afternoon, showing the demolition team munching its way east through the building:

H-E-B and Walmart in the Heights? Way to ruin a great neighborhood.
Stop… stop already. Heights people are constantly whining about not having a decent HEB. Now it might come, and you’re not happy? Get over it. The Walmart that everyone shook tiny their little fists at has not had any negative impact whatsoever on the quality of life in The Heights, and provided you all with the cheapest toilet paper and Tide you can get without going to Costco.
Amen, Claire de Lune.
