Earlier this month, Rhea Wheeler told the Houston Business Journal about his plans to open three restaurants in existing buildings in the greater downtown area: Gastropub Hearsay next to Market Square, a Texas cuisine restaurant called White House at Austin and Elgin in Midtown, and . . .
What was that third location? The HBJ wouldn’t say:
The company’s third location is a secret ingredient in the restaurant mix. Wheeler does not want to reveal the location of the large Midtown property, which was purchased two years ago, because he’s trying to buy the surrounding properties.
Below the fold: oops — where it is!

Well, the location couldn’t have been that much of a secret, because Cleverley Stone had already revealed Wheeler’s plans on her blog almost a month earlier:
Bagby & Pierce, (Midtown) the old Boy Scout building.
This 27,000 square foot building will be multi-purpose.
Fine dining restaurant, banquet space, private wine lockers, lounge/club with live music, sushi bar.
And here that building is, at 1911 Bagby, pictured above in all its rocky glory: Across the street from the new Midtown Edge condominiums and the Houston Technology Center. Maybe it’ll lure even more scout-like bands of downtown workers to traipse under the Pierce Elevated on lunchtime excursions to Midtown.
