Official opening date for the new 24 Hour Fitness Super-Sport club carved out of the old Bally’s space at 2500 Dunstan St., just east of Kirby: This Saturday. Yes, this is only the company’s 33rd Houston-area location. Indoor lap pool, basketball and racquetball courts, towel service, blah blah blah.

And the Greenbriar location closes Friday night, I am so sad to have to go to this place instead.
This is a four-minute trot from my new house! I’m excited that the monthly draft from my checking account will be wasted by me on a location so convenient to my home.
Now, any word if this’ll actually be open 24 hours, or like 5am-12mid like so many other locations have switched over to?
One racquetball court. Lame.
I can’t wait to check it out! I thought the old Bally’s was unique for being the only 4 story gym in town with a mini-indoor track (that I know of). But Bally’s had definitely seen better days. The equipment there was shabby. Looking forward to see what 24 Hour did to renovate it.
The Tellepsen Y downtown has an indoor track that is suspended above the basketball court. My kids are obsessed with it.
