I recently noticed this house is for sale “By Owner” – who is the builder. The house has some interesting Indian/Pakistani finishes in the “wine grotto” and the library, but we noticed some sloppy oversights when we toured the house a month ago. An outdoor column on the patio doesn’t line up with it’s counterpoint at the roof, electrical outlets are cut haphazardly around crown moulding, mirrors and other wood trim, big globs of caulk spill out of crevices. Of course all of these things can be fixed, but it does make you wonder how fastidious they were about everything you can’t see – wiring, for example. The house has been on the market for months now and he’s had time to fix these cosmetic details – so why hasn’t he? It is also right across the street from Hunters Creek Elementary, and while this isn’t the side of the school where parents drop off and pick up, I personally wouldn’t want to live that close.
Yeah, the Wade Hampton home is listed by Martha Turner and is down to ~2.6 million…no pictures, either!
