You Love the Knight Life: Rivercrest White Castle Retreat

A reader calls this odd home “a lottery winner’s dream!” The listing agent calls it “the ultimate bachelor pad.” But does either pitch fully explain what’s going on in this $4 million, 6,753-sq.-ft. medieval chateau fantasy in Rivercrest Estates?

A few highlights:

* * *

The famous Round Table, surrounded by . . . knights:

The Library comes with ample helmet storage:

Don’t be fooled by the garage doors in the photo below. This Wargame Suite, featuring “extensive molding and medieval flare,” is actually an “Office Retreat . . . with luxury car storage”:

Or maybe this is the space referred to in the listing as the “extraordinary man cave”?

Outside on the 3-acre grounds, the de rigueur outdoor chessboard — the best setting for playing games with your human subjects:

This upscale moat, with fountain:

And the craggy, steamy saltwater pool:

Not pictured: gated basketball court, lighted football field.

The campaign donation records say that this is the house of Kamran Nezami, head of University General Hospital (he gave the maximum to Hillary), and I see the house was last assessed in 2008 at 2.2mm. Obviously, the assessor missed the inherent value of playing life sized chess in your backyard.

    That place is awesome!

Yea, but we need more of these. Think of all the design professionals and landscapers and carpenters and the rest that were employed to build it and then maintain it. Hell, the construction crews were probably large enough to fill one of those suburban developments that is now a ghost town.

LOL. The car in the office is a classic. And the little battlefield in the foreground made me snort.

Well, what would a bachelor pad be without a private football field?

If you’re going to the garage as room thing at least do it tastefully please.

Wow Jimbo, great link. Both examples are over the top, but the LA one is a bit more palatable. On a different note, my first thought when looking at this place is that I’m sure the mosquitoes must be positively medieval.

A nice car in a garage/room sounds cool in theory… but I can’t help but think about the fact that my garage is about 100 degrees when “freshly” driven cars are parked and the door is closed.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I don’t really want to be watching TV with a heater on one side and an AC on the other.
