You know you want to see it: Yesterday’s “controlled demolition” of the hobbled 31-story Ocean Tower condo at the northern end of South Padre Island. Controlled Demolition’s dynamite work took down the tallest reinforced-concrete structure ever to be imploded.

Good demo experts should be praised. It’s more an art than anything. There isn’t a college degree or a vocational school to teach you how to properly demo.
The companies that do this often started as a family only operations and work off of reputation.
who bonds out these explosive demo jobs anyway? i’d think the bonding costs would be huge. especially when the structure is in a crowded area like downtown.
