H&M LANDING IN HOUSTON, BUT STAYING OUTSIDE THE LOOP Fashion retailer H&M this morning officially announced its first 2 stores in Houston, both in malls. A 19,400-sq.-ft. slot at the Baybrook Mall already mentioned on the company’s website is scheduled to open sometime this spring. Next: a 25,600-sq.-ft. store in the Willowbrook Mall. The company press release didn’t refer to any plans for inner-loop locations. [Shop Girl; previously on Swamplot]
sorry H&M, zara has online shopping with free shipping and allows people to return unwanted items to a centrally located store, you’re no longer needed.
Those “outer-looper” retailers…so snobby.
So, is H&M at Baybrook going where Ann Taylor Loft is currently?
Based on my experiences, Zara’s prices are higher and the quality is not as good.
As I mentioned in the comments of the Chron article, there is a site plan map of BLVD Place that lists H&M as a tenant. It lists H&M as getting 18,070 sq.ft. in a section of BLVD Place that isn’t supposed to be finished until 2014/15.

Looks like smoke didn’t lead to fire this time:
