“The doors do actually open on that floor and the elevator is functional,” insists the Swamplot reader who sent us these photos of the elevator landing on the fifth floor of the attached parking garage for the Decorative Center Houston at 5120 Woodway Dr. north of the Galleria. Yes, getting in and out would likely be a little difficult for those wider of girth or packages. But if you do end up stuck, you can always go down to a lower floor, switch cars, and come back up where there’s a little more space to maneuver:

The reader believes the construction partially blocking the elevator door was completed last year.

that’s some scary incompetence there whether construction is completed or not, there’s simply no excuse for that elevator to still be functional on that floor. on the bright side, know where i’m getting hurt and filing a nice big lawsuit this weekend.
That has to be a building code no-no.
They paid a lot of money to get additional parking, but more than half the parking spots are reserved. Then they paid even more money to get this really ugly water feature in the front of the building. They have multiple code violations ranging from adequate parking, no bike racks, and no clear signage for pedestrians.
The elevator is still like this…they recently completed new signage for the building on Woodway, so they’re spending money, just not in the right places. Constantly leaking roofs are fixed with buckets placed strategically around the building.
