Now flipping in Sherwood Oaks, a fully renovated ranchburger with rebooted pool serves up an open floor plan (above) with an outside of fresh greens. (The droopy tilted mailbox at curbside — shown in the older photo at right — has been replaced, too.) The overhauled property, located west of the Sam Houston Tollway and north of I-10, popped up on the market Wednesday as a relisting, asking $449,000. That’s the same price a previous listing by the same agent had reached by June; the property took a quick break and repositioned its pricepoint up from an initial $230,000 set in May, shortly after the current owner picked it up for $175K just a day after its listing at the end of April.

Among the changes to the 2,399-sq.-ft. canvas: new paint inside and out, new double-pane windows, tile flooring, and carpet in the 4 bedrooms. The kitchen picked up a more flowy plan, plus custom cabinets and a coffee bar.
Granite, used on the kitchen countertops, also appears on vanities in the updated bathrooms:
This one . . .
goes with the master bedroom:
Here’s one of the secondary bedrooms. They’re all the same size: 11 ft. by 12 ft.
The back of the 9,180-sq.-ft. lot still has a pool, though it has been resurfaced. The oversized garage still packs in a carport, which helps form a covered patio.
The home was looking far less swish in its initial offering last spring.
Not disclosed, but the “before” photos showed a few signs of having foundation issues. I don’t know what the market is like for that area but I think it’s overpriced.
What is the point of purchasing tiles that look like wood if you do such a horrible job with the grout? Looks *terrible*.
