  Sighting the Urban Living logo provokes in me a feeling reminiscent of the rumbles signaling the onset of diahorrea.

  I recently moved from a home on Vermont Street, very near this site. When the sign went up on the property, my daughter was visiting here from California. We got into a discussion about whether or not they would demolish the home or renovate. My daughter insisted that they would not tear down a house so filled with character- I said that of course they would. When she came back last month for Christmas, she was horrified to find out I was right.
  I’ve since temporarily settled in with my sister in Oak Forest- another area currently in a frenzy of mowing down character-filled cottages.

  California has it’s share of problems but they know how to preserve and restore neighborhoods.
