Candlelight Forest Indoor Landscape

“SPACIOUS LIVINGROOM WITH SKYLIGHT & FLOWERBED,” shouts the listing for this 1970s-era home on a cul-de-sac near White Oak Bayou in Candlelight Forest. And it’s no exaggeration. The Swamplot reader who alerted us to the property also expressed appreciation for its mauve carpet and mirrored Dining Room wall:

***

This place is a steel-frame home and has an all-brick exterior. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and an “extra-large” 2-car attached garage.

The asking price is $119,900, although for about 11 days last month it was available for $5K less. The home went on the market at the beginning of the year.

  • Cool! A make-believe impluvium! (Mister Brooke Smith has always wanted one, but we’re staying put above the flood plain.) And with that gold-veined mirror right next to it, this Pirtle-palace is ready for party nights of Roman decadence. All it needs is a remodeling of that sad kitchen & bath with some snazzy mosaics and a vomitorium.

  • I would love to jump into a place like that and remodel it, but the floodplain issues do make it difficult.

  • Aw, that would’ve made a great NGG!

  • Not to mention it backs up to da tracks

  • NICE HOME, BUT ONLY HAS 2, THAT’S RIGHT.. 2 WINDOWS ABLE TO OPEN, THE REST OF HOUSE IS SEALED WITH BUSINESS-LIKE WINDOWS, IF THERE WAS A FIRE BE PREPARED TO “BREAK OUT” OF THERE, IF SOMETHING SMELLS BAD….GOOD LUCK.
BIG INSIDE WITH OBVIOUSLY TINY YARD.
    IT’S A 1 CAR GARAGE, CAN’T FIT 2.
AND YOU CANNOT SEE OUTSIDE FROM THE FRONT UNLESS YOU’RE IN ONE OF THE ROOMS.
SAY YOU WANT TO DISPLAY A NICE CHRISTMAS TREE…….NO ONE WILL SEE IT.
