    From Matt:

Slated may be a good word to use since the developers are now planning to get the original design approved complete with the “chi-chi” mini-mart, maybe they should put in a mini-Central Market or a mini-Whole Foods which would probably result in half the homeowners pulling their names off the petition to stop it, and of course if they wait too long and Annise Parker or Peter Brown manage to get elected mayor, the developers may once again be facing the “big bad wolf” who will huff and puff and try to blow the monster hirise down again.

Plus, the NIMBYs cannot be pleased; they’d probably just complain about increased traffic if any significant retail were brought to the site, no matter how nice it were.
