Reader Question: That Crane at I-10 and Kirkwood

Energy Tower I, Kirkwood and I-10, Houston

A reader asks about some new construction off I-10:

There’s a tall crane setup at the NW corner of I-10 and Kirkwood, next door to the existing Energy Tower I. I haven’t seen anything about that anywhere. Another office tower by Mac Haik Management? Energy Tower II??

Answers, anyone . . . ?

Hey, did some further digging and found this:

“Technip USA plans to move into a new 17-story building planned for the Energy Plaza Office Park at Kirkwood and I-10. The French-owned firm signed a lease for space in Energy Tower II. Groundbreaking is set for February. A full-service hotel is also planned for the park, as well as another office building called Energy Tower III.”

Apparently this was all announced last October. Didn’t think that parcel of land was big enough for two more towers plus a hotel.

google “energy tower II” and you’ll get results from HAIF, HBJ and the chronicle. Search images and you’ll get a rendering.
