There may not be a whole lot of wildlife ranging around the grounds surrounding this 1982 property in Piney Point Village. But check out the inside of the home:

A wet bar (above) adds some high balls to the eyeballs in adjacent rooms of the 5,877-sq.-ft. home on a range of sorts. The acre-ish lot straddles a turn in Buffalo Bayou east of Fondren Rd.  Listed last week, the home’s asking price is $1.725 million.

Off the foyer, the master bedroom and its bathroom provide a respite from the animal motif — maybe. There’s still a sanguine tinge to the walls and carpet.

In the suite’s adjacent sitting area, however, creatures stake out territory to watch shows on Animal Planet:

Two staircases lead to the trophy-free zone (well, almost) of 4 or 5 secondary bedrooms upstairs, where fabric plumage appears to have taken the place of fur and feathers:

What kind of mixed message is that bird house (above) sending?

  • Barbaric; a house full of slaughter.

  • What a loverly room of death you have here

  • Well done on the commentary. I would be afraid to ask for any seller’s credits on repairs, lest I end up stuffed and mounted over the bath tub, which is noticeably lacking in taxidermy.

  • I can’t figure why, after going to all that expense to hire a decorator (whose hand we see in those carefully coordinated trophies), the homeowner installed two white towel racks on the kitchen island. Was there no brushed aluminum that day at Home Depot?

  • They really need one of those shark decals in the bottom of the pool to tie it altogether.

  • Typical carnivore/murder-for-sport kitchen; blood red cabinets for when the blood drips down off the counter.
Vegans and vegetarians tend to favor green I’ve noticed.

  • dead zoos are so 70s

  • The Anti-Christ gets all the press, but the Anti-Noah has a nice house.

  • A Cheetah? Really?

  • I actually think there may have (appallingly) been two cheetahs – the one in the fore ground in the tv sitting area, but there is another spotted cat in the dining room, that appears to be mounted raised on hind legs “playfully” batting at some sort of avian carcass.

  • Somebody cue the sad violin music.
