The Difference Between a House and an Office in the Old Sixth Ward Is a Slot

Offices of KinneyMorrow Architecture, 2219 Kane St. Old Sixth Ward, HoustonMarked down from 2314 to 2219 Kane St., KinneyMorrow Architecture’s new office in an old structure now on the corner of Sawyer St. is definitely not a house any more. Blame the slot.

  • I love it! What a neat way to restore an old house. The black and white color scheme inside is perfect.

  • This is great! Houston could use more of this instead of the “that’s old, throw it away” mentality.

  • I’ve watched this building emerge down the street from me and enjoyed the gentle repurposing they have made to this house. Lovely work that gives the Old Sixth Ward more than it takes.

  • Prolly good for another hundred years.

  • Great project. Kinney Morrow is turning out to be one of the better design firms in Houston, from the projects that I’ve seen. .
    .
Terrible article though. I could just as easily say that the difference between a House and an Office is a piece of paper – change of use form – that you can get on the third floor of the Houston Permitting Center…..

  • I knew the style of this house looked familiar.. Kinneymorrow Architecture also worked on a home on the 2014 AIA Home Tour on Decatur. Nice work.
