The custom home and office building of Heights homebuilder Fisher Homes at 832 Yale St. is currently up for sale or lease. Construction on the just-under-15,000-sq.-ft. building south of 9th St. wrapped up near the end of 2014; the property listing indicates that availability started in January of this year.

Amenities at the Morrison Heights and Studemont Mid-Rise developer’s mixed-use space include an indoor basketball court, downtown views from the above-3rd-story rooftop terrace, and various conference rooms. Floorplans of the building show the middle-of-the-house driveway (which provides access to the backyard parking lot) separating a 437-sq.-ft. apartment (circled in dotted red below) from the main structure:

  • This guy built some high priced stuff at the top of the market. His deal on Oak Forrest Drive, which is next to the very active rail lines, is getting killed. Then he built this monstrosity in the Heights, and lists it as an office. Uh, Bro, you should have never been in the development/home building business. Thanks for playing, you helped inflate the bubble, now go away.

  • Right on Bocepheus! Its time to declare The Purge. Rid Houston of the unscrupulous and dimwitted developers especially those with uninspiring designs. Unfortunately this will barely put a dent and more waiting to take their place.

  • I would never get into a deal with this guy. Why is he digging a huge hole right across the street from this? Hope he goes bankrupt. Karma is a bi. . . .

  • So, Terry Fisher builds this giant tribute to low grade building materials and diy CAD architecture AND HE DOESN’T EVEN USE IT FOR HIS FREAKING OFFICE!!! If you are going to drop an architectural piece of poopy like this thing in the Heights, the least you can do is own it.

  • Forget this serving as an office space. I’m planning to buy the whole building and subdivide it into 12 apartments for my best friends. It’ll be a Heights Utopia. The basketball court will justify changing ridiculously high rent, and then once I convert the conference rooms into gaming spaces — think pool tables, ping pong, air hockey, indoor cornhole — I’ll have a full-fledged Fisher fraternity house.
