Buffalo Bayou Flying Saucer House is Now Yours Free with $2.39 Million Purchase of Hunters Creek Lot

311 Hunters Trail St., Hunterwood, Hunters Creek, TX 77024

Hidden in the woods behind the Houston Racquet Club, this C-floorplan mod leaning out toward Buffalo Bayou is currently on the market for just under $2.4 million — down from $3.8 million at the end of September, and $2.9 million at the start of November. The 7,449-sq.-ft. home is now being sold for what the listing claims is lot value, though a $900/monthyear maintenance fee is included. The curvaceous structure contains 3 bedrooms, 3 and a half bathrooms, a pool, and a small mixed-species grove.

Sadly, no photos of the interior are included in the listing, but aerial views are:

  • I wish there were interior shots, this house is cool. It’s a shame that it will probably be torn down and replaced with several cookie-cutter townhomes, or maybe an apartment complex. I think quirky houses should be encouraged.

  • HAR seems to indicate that’s $900/year in maintenance, not $900/month.

  • That’s a fantastic house. Seems like the right realtor could find a buyer interested in renovating. A ravine/bayou facing lot is the closest thing you’ll get to a nice view and natural beauty in Houston.

I’m sure your comment was partly tongue-in-cheek, but the fact that there’s a maintenance fee suggests there’s a HOA. HOA means restrictions on what can be done with the lot.

  • Just a reminder that this house is located within the independent city of Hunter’s Creek Village, not within the city of Houston. Hunter’s Creek has both zoning and HOAs. It’s highly doubtful that this will be replaced by an apartment complex.

  • Surely the buyer can survive in 7.4k sq ft? IF not, make an addition.

Can we peek into in the windows?

  • Normally, you can get into the Memorial villages for around 1.3mln per acre, but this particular street is a bit special, don’t know why, it just always has been overpriced. Personally I think it’s too small to build an estate home to justify the lot price.
