The planter cutouts next to the garage doors . . . the single-sided, shingled pediments . . . the cast-in-foam detailing . . . the security fence. Yes, it could only be another themed stucco townhouse compound in Montrose!
But the Piazza Townhomes, now under construction by Savannah Home Builders on Harold St. near Stanford in Audubon Place, will surely be unique! Consider: 4 stories. A garage-level wedding-cake-style central fountain, topped with . . . something that looks like a naked cherub. Above, an elevated second-floor courtyard, wrapped with wrought-iron-look railings and greened with potted topiary.
In the video below, it all blends together seamlessly, thanks to a languid easy-listening soundtrack. The project’s website puts it best: the Piazza Townhomes truly is “Architecture Imitating Art.”

There will be 11 units in the Piazza Townhomes, ranging from 2,877 to 3,555 sq. ft. Prices start at $575,400.

Possibly inspired by the work of Morris Lapidus, these plaza light wells will bring reflected sunshine to the garage-door-side planting areas:

As a former Audubon Place homeowner, I just have to say UGH. So awful. Will kill the Hawthorne St. side of the property as well as the Harold.
This bit of hideousness froze my compter.
Now excuse me while I go flush the vomit out of my mouth…
Combine this with the story about Google street view, and go take a virtual look.
No wonder there are so many houses for sale on Audubon Place this month.
Finally! A beautiful develpment in the Montrose area!
How exciting!
The homeowners on this street should thank god that there is finally something to raise their property values!
haha ‘airlifted pool table!’ Units must have hinged rooves for gameroom equip…
Man, I was really being seduced by this place! Kept hoping to find the trail of rose petals. Where is that handsome young thang draped across a bed waiting for me?
Pretty cool the swiss cheese first deck – lots of holes for drunken friends to fall through.
Wow- whomever movocelet is, he sounds like a REAL WINNER. I would suggest that you spell check prior to posting blogs.
I am all for this development- I see real potential.
Has anyone seen the beautiful work this builder does in Bellaire?
@Joan,
No. No one has.
