The scene captured last Saturday by that drone videocamera flight, showing excavation on the site of the East Downtown stadium at Texas and Dowling, plus a high-end view of Downtown’s back side . . . and a very round earth. Like a more steady ride? Here’s a still:

Pretty cool. Methinks a flyover of the Exxon-Mobil campus is in order.
Nord – I think it’s already been done. I’ve seen a few aerial shots. Lots of dirt. Looooots of dirt. Give it a few months though.
Is it just me or does the new stadium cut-off 2 out of the 3 remaining streets not already cut-off by the the GRB and Minute Maid Park. Isn’t that…uhh…like…uhh… bad urban planning or something.
heaven forbid that Houston would ever allow bad urban planning to occur…
OH ME GOSH!!!! ME HID ME BONE THERE…. THEMS IS GOING TO FIND IT I TELL YA!!
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
How can I get my own “drone videocamera” to spy with? I can think of so many things I would do with that – I’d start on the nude sun deck of those apartments (La Maison?) for a quick thrill, then I’d flit up to the windows of the Petroleum Club downtown to see what those grand chandeliers are illuminating, and finally, I’d do a quick zoom over the Ship Channel to see who’s using the Port Authority yacht for a private party tonight.
@CtyPlnr…I like the unintentional blocking of more streets over there as it adds a sort of charming chaos effect that is pure Houston to that area.
@Superdave…you might want to check with HPD. They tried to keep them a secret but they got busted test flying them in Waller Co.
There were no streets there anyway.
And half the roads are already criss-crossed by old RR tracks.
Awesome video. Hopefully they make more as the construction continues.
Why would anyone want to spy when you can see it all right here – http://www.houstondynamo.com/stadiumwebcam
(just a different angle) ? Dud!
