Pulling into the Pei Wei parking lot on FM 1960 just north of 290 for lunch yesterday, Swamplot reader David Hollas came upon “a whole bunch of commercial real estate signs that reminded me of that tasty sandwich place called Quiznos.” Looking closer, he realized the signs belonged to Houston commercial real estate company NewQuest Properties. Hollas notes “the logos are nearly identical.”

They’ve gotten me in the past as well. I always feel vaguely cheated.
Yep. I think the same thing everytime I see that sign. I keep thinking that Quizno’s is sure expanding into a lot of areas.
He’s not the first to notice the similarity. My former roommate at first thought the NewQuest office on the West Belt was some kind of Quizno’s corporate office at first blush. The only reason they might be getting away with it is that as far as I know, NewQuest isn’t in the sandwich business yet.
Every time I see one of those, I’m like “Mmm, mmm, toa- .. damnit NewQuest!”
