Eight — count ’em, 8 — curtain calls have had this updated 1961 Westmont home (near Tanglewilde) on and off the market since February 2010. In the interim, a series of listings, relistings — and a break or two — saw adjustments to the asking price from a low of $149,000 in October 2012 to a high of $199,900 in early November 2013. The well-porched property is on its third run at the market in 5 months. This round, initiated earlier this week by a new agency, sets the price at $550,000. An initial listing of the corner lot cottage in July 2013 was priced at $635,000, though the ask was reduced to $599,000 a month later. COMMENT OF THE DAY: WHEN KIDS TAKE OVER THE BIG ROOMS “. . . And let me say as a parent, having a large room entirely devoted to the kids is great. We didn’t have a dining room table for at least a year when we first moved into our current home, and our kids LOVED that empty space. They cried when we turned it into a proper dining room.” [Vonnegan, commenting on Houston Home Listing Photo of the Day: Child Support] Illustration: Lulu
