‘666 GET OUT’ HOUSE DRAWS IN A BUYER ANYWAY 
The 3-bedroom, 2-bath house up in Longview, TX, listed with spooky pronouncements like “666†and “GET OUT†smeared into the veneer of dirt in its kitchen (as recently seen on Swamplot’s Home Listing Photo of the Day feature) — was sold last week “to a buyer over the phone who had never seen the property in person, just the online listing,†Heather Leighton of the Chronicle reports. The cryptic messages, which turned out to be pretty killer marketing, were put in place by the previous owners to deter break-ins. Although seller Amy Tabor of H5 Auction and Realty says the writing initially creeped her out, it did not deter her from selling the house to the highest bidder at last Monday’s auction (which started at $2,500). The company’s Facebook note about the home, which made no secret of the property’s decaying, peeling “fixer upper†conditions, simply urged buyers to “channel your inner Joanna Gaines†—- and received 88 percent more action than a normal post for the company. On the market again: the designed-it-himself 1959 home of Ralph Anderson (who worked on the Astrodome, as well as the retooled brutalist building now occupied by the Houston Chronicle). The home is iced on its Banks St. side in cream-colored patterned concrete and contains an airy courtyard center; the latest asking price is $839,000, down from $875,000 last spring. The property was a stop on houstonMod’s May Mod of the Month tour, which took place yesterday afternoon.

The early-nineties property known as the Blair House appears to be up for sale again (no, not that one — or that one — but the Grogan’s Mill home of attorney and Power of Attorney teevee litigator Nelda Luce Blair and her husband). The home was scheduled to make an appearance on the auction block in early April, with a minimum bid of $2 million. The 5-acre property is now listed for $3.45 million, down from $5.4 million back when the place went on sale in 2012. The latest shots of the home show off the extensive collection of ceiling murals in the foyer and living room (some in markedly  higher contrast than others); the curvature of the 2-story porte-cochère matches up with the curve of the foyer’s barrel ceiling:
